Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

Gather objective insights from enthusiastic business students by participating in a comprehensive strategy review with the Lakeland College Case Studies Class!

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Students will research and assemble information about how your business if affected by the economy, your industry, and your competition. They will seek out and identify your strengths, efficiencies, and vulnerabilities. After the information has been reviewed and analyzed, they will present their findings and recommendations in a narrated presentation with accompanying documentation.

Project Examples

In this assignment, students will conduct an overview of your business and gain an understanding of your industry and competitive landscape. As a participating organization, you can direct their research by providing particular areas of interest and context on challenges you face, but their review will be a general one that takes in the organization as a whole. By allowing students to perform an unbiased assessment and review, you’ll receive unique insights into areas where they offer special insight.

Students will identify strengths, weaknesses and areas of opportunity. They will provide recommendations to address your business needs and insights into areas of potential growth.

Recommendations can include, but are not limited to:

  • Opportunities to streamline costs
  • Improved accounting procedures
  • Changes to supply chain management processes
  • Go-to-market strategy for new products or services
  • Changes to your digital marketing strategy
  • Overhaul of branding or communication strategy
  • Pricing or service structure changes
