Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

4 teams of 4 Student-Designers will analyze a new or existing product, service, or market, applying Design Thinking and Lean Entrepreneurship methods to resolve your unique challenge or explore a new opportunity.

Expected outcomes and deliverables
  • Prototype of solution
  • 7 to 12-page detailed design report: includes process, options/ideas considered, user-comments, proposed solution, and rationale
  • Optional business report: provides possible marketing designs and launch plan (based on customer and team research)
Project Examples

Beginning this November, 4 groups of 4 student-designers will cumulatively dedicate 560+ hours over the entire semester analyzing an existing or new business area within your organization.

Based on the information your organization provides, goals that you've shared, and through assessing user experience needs, the students will design, develop, and test a user-centric prototype. This model will resolve a current challenge or explore new business opportunities.

Teams may work in tandem on the same project or on 4 separate areas of focus.

Areas of focus may include, but are not limited to:

  • New marketing approach or market development
