Learner goals and capabilities

The "Consult for Impact" program is an innovative and transformative experiential learning program designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application for business students at Rotman Commerce. This program is specifically tailored for upper-year students who have a keen interest in the field of consulting and are eager to make a meaningful impact through their skills and knowledge.

The primary objective of the Consult for Impact program is to provide students with hands-on consulting experience while simultaneously offering valuable support to organizations that are dedicated to positive social change. By partnering with clients who work with marginalized communities, non-profit organizations, University of Toronto-affiliated projects, and startup companies, the program aims to create a symbiotic relationship where both students and clients benefit from collaborative engagements.

About Rotman Commerce and our Students:

Rotman Commerce students are brilliant and passionate, educated in a variety of fields, and diverse in their lived experiences and perspectives. The Rotman School of Management and the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Arts and Science offer our program jointly.

The Rotman Commerce program provides a balanced approach to undergraduate business education. In pursuing a BCom with us, Rotman Commerce students receive a solid grounding in management fundamentals (accounting, finance, economics, marketing, organizational behaviour, strategy, innovation, etc.) while having the freedom to choose from a flexible and diverse arts and science curriculum. The combination of management and arts and science education enables Rotman Commerce students to approach real-world problems through a multifaceted lens. Courses in computer science, psychology, linguistics, statistics, and philosophy are popular with Rotman Commerce students.

Our students also bring diverse lived experiences, talents, and skills to the program. Every year we welcome students from around the world – our students are citizens of 78 countries.
