Deliverables

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. The student should complete a minimum of 105 hours with your organization by April 2022.

Project Examples

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Program outline

Students who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of study can look for placements in Autumn, Spring, and Summer. Students have the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to the challenges of business life as they gain valuable, relevant work experience as an intern student within your organization. Students are available from the following programs:

  • Marketing
  • Fashion Marketing
  • Beauty Marketing
  • PR
  • Advertising
  • Communications

Students can complete tasks in any of the following areas: corporate communications, media, public relations, direct and digital marketing, branding, advertising and copywriting, branding, buying, retailing, and merchandising.

Recruitment process

  • Please submit a project to this page describing your Virtual Internship opportunity, if you are able to provide a position.
  • Students will apply for Internship positions with employers whose projects are approved.
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.

A dedicated contact with who we can liaise with via video and email over the course of the project.

105 hours of work experience required over a semester (roughly 15 weeks). These hours can be completed in a minimum of 15 working days (based on 7 hours per day) full-time during the summer, or over a semester in a part-time mode.

Be available for a quick conference call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

For international students (Tier 4) we require weekly timesheets to be signed off by the member of staff from the organization overseeing the work placement/project.

Must be able to provide milestones or project goals.

Feedback at the end of the placement period.
