Project Examples

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Students are in the Post-Graduate diploma program. All students seeking a placement have work experience, as well as an undergraduate degree or diploma.

The students seeking virtual placements have skills and have completed studies in the following areas:

  • fundamentals of project management
  • project leadership
  • business analysis
  • project planning and scheduling
  • procurement
  • contract management
  • project estimation
  • cost management
  • project risk
  • project quality management.

If you are interested in offering a virtual placement to 1-3 students, please submit a project describing one of the major types of work the student would be doing for your organization.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Employers must complete an evaluation at the end of the internship. This will be used to determine 70% of the students final graed.

Placements can be paid or unpaid. When unpaid honorariums are welcomed if your organization is able to provide a stipend for the student. These internship are for-credit and occur in the final semester the students program.

Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
