Graduate business students will apply analytics models, methods, tools, and techniques to solve business problems. Students are knowledgeable in statistical models, data mining and management, descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, simple machine learning algorithms, visualization, and ability to link analytics with business strategy and KPIs.

The final project deliverables might include:
- A 45-minute presentation of key findings and recommendations
- A detailed written report including their research, analysis, insights, and recommendations (multiple phased drafts with feedback from Sponsor)
Project Examples
Beginning in May, students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project activities may include a partial list of the items shown below:
- Apply analytics models, methods, tools, and techniques to solve business problems using descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics methods.
- Link and align analytics with business strategy and data strategy
- Conduct data exploration, data cleaning, and wrangling for a specific problem set as part of a broader solution.
- Address business process changes necessary to implement analytics insights and discuss the pros and cons of multiple models
- Construct analytics models, evaluate, monitor, and measure model results;
- Develop visualizations that provide insights into business problems and market opportunities
