Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from RMIT to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.


Learners in this program/experience will learn to:

  • Create client focussed business operations options for business stakeholders
  • Use design thinking when exploring operation problems/opportunities
  • Negotiate with and lead discussions with business stakeholders
  • Apply research principles and methods to develop ethical and sustainable solutions for problems and issues in contemporary business operations practice

Deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. 


Final project deliverables might include: 

  1. A 20 minute PowerPoint presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report 4000 word report with a 250 word Executive Summary including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations


Project Examples

Learners in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.


Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Design of co-productive services
  • Data analytics in operations management
  • Managing value chains, sustainability in value chains
  • Goods, services and supply chain designs
  • Process selection, facility and work design
  • Forecasting, demand planning and capacity management
  • Process analysis, resource utilisation, scheduling, sequencing
  • Blockchain
  • Quality management, quality control
  • Lean operating systems, project management
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Provide a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address learners’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.

Provide an opportunity for learners to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information and/or data as needed for the project.
