Deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope, deliverables, and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome: All groups in the class will work on a single organization's project and the best deliverables are provided to you for your use and feedback. The final deliverables vary, based on the project selected and are agreed upon in the planning phase. It could be a report, live presentation, or project plan, depending on the scope of your organization's goals.

Project Examples

Starting this September, a class of experienced IT professionals working in groups of 5 will spend 100 hours per team working to provide an innovative solution for IT challenge that your organization provides.

These IT professionals are mentored and guided by IT Industry leaders while receiving academic training from Ryerson University. Through this program, recently-immigrated professionals are provided Canadian workplace and academic training to allow them to transition into a full time position in the Ontario IT sector.  For more information on the program, see http://accesemployment.ca/index.php/information-technology-connections.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Comparing different software vendors to meet a particular business need and providing recommendations.
  • Creating a project plan for the implementation of a new technology.
  • Creating a proposed plan to introduce your team to Agile methodologies.
