The research is independent of George Brown College. It is a response to the impact of COVID in the

  1. Hospitality Tourism Industry
  2. Food and Beverage Industry

Outcomes of the research includes:

  1. Success competencies for hotels.
  2. Resetting responsible tourism.
  3. Addressing strategies from UNWTO.
  4. Understanding how to stimulate consumer confidence.
  5. Identifying resilience in the Food and Beverage Industry.
  6. Behaviourial change in the market segment.

The research can

  • Be useful to internal and external users by offering a different point of view of the current socio-economic situation.
  • Stimulate a different thought process by providing a variety of approaches to stimulate the industry.
  • Review current practices in Industry while providing ideas to challenge the status quo.
  • Inspire students as the future change agents and industry ambassadors.

  1. A written report detailing the challenges, understanding resilience in business, recommended tourism pathways, and action plan.
  2. A presentation with actionable recommendations based on the research results.

  • Develop best practices strategies on industry research and consumer surveys.
  • Identify business opportunities through location analysis and consumer surveys.
