Bring on one or more students from the Centennial College International Business Management program to be your virtual intern! Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
The semester runs from January 18 to April 16. Students must complete a minimum of 12 weeks and 392 hours.
Students are able to complete their internship virtually, but also in person if it is feasible and can be done safely.
Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. The student should complete 392 hours with your organization by April 16.

Project Examples
Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.
Students are in the Post-Graduate certificate program. All students seeking a placement have work experience, as well as an undergraduate degree or diploma.
The students seeking virtual placements have skills and have completed studies in the following areas:
- International Banking and Finance
- Global Logistics
- International Business Law
- Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development
- Research Methods for Trade and Development
- Geopolitics of Trade and Development
- Global Business Strategy
- Corporate Social Responsibility and International Development
- Developing an International Business Plan
- Principles of Freight Forwarding
- International Marketing
If you are interested in offering a virtual placement to 1-3 students, please submit a project describing one of the major types of work the student would be doing for your organization.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.
Placements can be paid or unpaid. When unpaid honorariums are welcomed if your organization is able to provide a stipend for the student. These internship are for-credit and occur in the final semester the students program.
Employers must complete an evaluation at the end of the internship. This will be used to determine 70% of the students final graed.
