As the travel and tourism industry is becoming one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world, deepening ‎diversification of services and experiences is imperative to the sustainability of any tourism, hospitality, or leisure related business. In this project, students from the Tourism & Hospitality Management Program will develop new tourism/hospitality/leisure ventures, or diversify current business offerings for your organization.

The final project deliverable is a business plan that you can use to implement your new venture/product diversification. A business plan typically includes, but it is not limited, to the following elements:
- Executive Summary
- Market Research
- Sales and Marketing Strategy
- Operations
- Financial Forecasting
Project Examples
Based on organizational goals for new products or product diversification, students will conduct secondary market research to create a business plan you can implement in your organization. Research will be conducted using a variety of approaches, including:
- Industry profile and outlook
- Competitor analysis (SWOT)
- Target market analysis
- Pricing strategy
- Marketing strategy
- Operations analysis (HR, Legal issues, Risk assessment)
- Financial forecasting

- Target market assessment, feasibility study, or business plan for a new tourism/leisure business (e.g. a new recreation program for a community centre, or a re-vamped hotel rewards program).
