Our students from Langara College are eager to effectively communicate both qualitative and quantitative data in tables, charts, and infographics. They have learnt and can apply colour theory, visual perception, and cognition, as well as design principles in the development of appropriate data visualizations for your company.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Final deliverables will include:

  • A slide deck with conclusions and recommendations for a 15-minute consulting presentation.
  • A written report with details of the predictive models that were developed, including insights and overall recommendations that are inferred from such models.
  • All applicable source code.

Project Examples

Students may work with the company on any of the following topics:

  • Identify and interpret informative patterns and trends in data.
  • Select the appropriate type of visualization to answer an organizational question.
  • Create effective visualizations representing the relationships contained in complex data sets for both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Create data visualizations that adhere to ethical principles and standards for data presentation, storage, citation, and protection.
  • Incorporate data visualization techniques in presentation and reports.
  • Support your visualizations with written and oral explanations of their interpretations.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
