Graduate student-consultants will identify and analyze international expansion opportunities for your organization and provide data-driven recommendations for success.

Phase 1 - Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.
Phase 2 - Project Execution: Students will work on the deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.
Phase 3 - Outcome - Report: Groups will submit a 20-page report on their research and recommendations.
The top three groups, as determined by the instructor, will present their findings to you in person or virtually.
Project Examples
A class of about 34 Graduate students will work in groups of four, spending 320+ hours per team on a global entry plan and strategic analysis for your organization.
The student-consultant groups will work with you to analyze foreign markets, develop strategies for stabilization and/or growth in foreign markets, identify viable new opportunities, and a establish a process to ensure your success in launching a new product or expanding your business into a foreign market.
Students research may include, but is not limited to:
- Market entry strategies.
- Barriers, costs, and risks.
- Partnerships required to achieve your company's objectives.
- Cross-cultural competency requirements.
- Applicable domestic and international laws.
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Meet with/have a conference call with the student team to outline project requirements.
If possible, meet with students for their final presentation or attend virtually.
Provide a written evaluation.
Provide a dedicated contact to answer periodic emails over the duration of the project to address student's questions.
Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).
