Interactive Resource Guide MVP Development
The project aims to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for an interactive resource guide, which will serve as a foundational tool for users to easily access and navigate essential resources. The primary goal is to create a user-friendly interface that consolidates various resources into a cohesive guide, providing users with quick and efficient access to information. This project will allow learners to apply their classroom knowledge in user interface design, database management, and software development. The focus will be on creating a streamlined, intuitive experience that can be expanded upon in future phases to include features like mapping, client tracking, and automation. The project will involve tasks such as designing the user interface, developing the backend database, and integrating the two to ensure seamless functionality. - Develop a user-friendly interface for the resource guide. - Consolidate various resources into a cohesive, accessible format. - Ensure seamless integration between the user interface and backend database. - Lay the groundwork for future enhancements, including mapping and automation. To help clarify what we’re working on, here are a few details about the resource guide we’re aiming to build: • Type of information: Names, addresses, contact info, service availability, and eligibility criteria for resources like public housing, shelters, legal aid, employment/training programs, food pantries, disability services, and more • Current data sources: A mix of spreadsheets, PDFs, partner websites, databases, and emails • Update frequency: Shelter and housing data changes daily or weekly; other resources are updated bi-weekly or monthly • System access: We use CaseWorthy and pull some data into Power BI, but aren’t sure about backend/API capabilities yet • Initial use: Internal-only to start, with the goal of making it public-facing once stable • Platform ideas: We have access to SharePoint and can add pages to our internal site; longer-term, we’re envisioning something app-based, possibly paired with a digital brochure We’re especially curious to hear your take on sustainability
