Learners will be tasked with simulating real-world scenarios to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of software testing, user experience evaluation, and data analysis. By engaging in this project, learners will gain hands-on experience in quality assurance and project evaluation, contributing to the platform's readiness for broader deployment. Key tasks include: - Conducting functional and usability testing of the platform. - Liaising with pilot partners and analyzing feedback, identifying common issues. - Compiling a report with recommendations for platform improvements.

The main goal for the project is to prepare a database of different equipment vendors of solar and wind energy technologies and to collate meteorological data for different regions. This will involve several different steps for the learners, including: - Researching and identifying different equipment vendors for solar and wind energy technologies. - Compiling a database of the identified equipment vendors, including their contact information and product offerings. - Gathering meteorological data for different regions, including factors such as solar radiation, wind speed, and temperature. - Organizing and structuring the collected data in a format that is easily accessible and usable for future design solutions.

The main goal of this project is to improve the business development activities at ABEN HUB. It will involve the intern to search for potential contacts within the renewable energy engineering network, reach out to them for introductory meetings and discuss potential partnerships.

Financial Business Plan

We are a cleantech startup, ABEN HUB, that focuses on launching our design platform for renewable energy developers. With any launch, having a financial plan is one of the keys to success, and we would like to involve students in creating one for our new venture. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Learning about our business strategy from various employees to become familiar with our goals, mission, and products. Creating forecasts using Excel (or another financial software) for sales in the first year of operation as well as an income projection (conservative and aggressive). Working with our team to develop an expense budget. Conducting a break-even analysis timeline using financial projections. Reporting on projected assets and liabilities. Including visual comparisons such as graphs and charts to show the differences between the conservative and aggressive income projection.

ABen Hub is looking for a talented individual/team of students to create/improve a pitch deck to use to gain investors for the company. The skills needed to complete this project include analytical, research, and communication. The pitch deck will be used to secure funding for ABen Hub - it is important that the deliverable be professional, concise, and accurate. A pitch deck outline, as well as weekly meetings and email to connect, will be available to you.

Software Architecture and Prototype Development Research

ABen Hub would like to explore software architecture and open source support for a new product. We have already conducted market discovery and validation and have spent a good amount of time researching potential technologies and how they will fit together to fit our customer’s needs. We would like you to evaluate our new product’s needs and compare that against current open source technologies and architectural patterns to develop an overall software architecture we could use to implement in our product. This will involve: Conduct background research on our product. Identify what open source software is available and what software architecture patterns would be best suited towards this application. Creation of a detailed software architecture model, highlighting key components, software, patterns and anything else needed.
