Description

Reel Youth is a media empowerment project of MakeWay Charitable Society that delivers community development programming to youth and adults across Canada and internationally. Film production and distribution programs are designed to create positive change in young people's lives through technical skill building, leadership training, creative collaboration with peers and mentors, and increased connection to community resources.

Our award winning programs support participants to create media about issues they care about as they gain tangible media production and leadership skills. Programs are as much about film making as building personal resiliency in marginalized youth to overcome challenges, be successful, and inspire those around them.

Project feedback
Working with Reel Youth was an amazing opportunity for me to learn and grow as a person and graphic designer. I gained a lot of knowledge about myself and where my skills lie while working under the guidance of Erica and the rest of the team. Tasks were well-defined and presented in an organized and easy-to-understand way, which left me with little to no questions after each assignment. Everyone was also extremely encouraging and understanding, making me feel comfortable taking on roles I havenโ€™t had experience with and excelling at them.
