Tourism is a global industry, but many local businesses and communities do not benefit from it. There are some forms of tourism where no money reaches the hands of local people. Planeterra works to break this cycle by supporting and uplifting community tourism. By strengthening community tourism around the world, economic opportunities are created, places are protected, and cultures are celebrated through travel.
With Planeterra's Global Community Tourism Network, we are providing enterprises with access to much-needed training and support. By helping these enterprises thrive, they can then invest in their economies, education, healthcare, and the environment.

Recent projects
Systems Research & Evaluation Project
The main goal for the project is to research and evaluate various systems to help innovate Planetera's operations and service delivery with increased efficiency and effectiveness. These systems will range from Donor CRMs to improve tools for donor communications and retention; Mobile Timesheet/ Time Management Apps to increase the ability to track and categorize team time on different initiatives; Membership and Community Platforms to explore alternative platforms to deliver a training hub and online community of training members; Exploring how and where AI tools may improve effiency and service delivery in Planeterra's work.
Online Training Platform Development
Planeterra provides online training modules as part of the Global Community Tourism network for community tourism organizations around the world to develop and manage their tourism experiences. We would like to collaborate with students to examine our current learning hub and recommend areas for innovation, expansion and overall improved service delivery.
