In this project, student teams may collaborate with Katamundi’s leadership team on the following: STRATEGIC PLANNING: Develop a strong understanding of Katamundi’s business (near and longer-term) and target market to help build the most effective and efficient plan for growth and revenue generation. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Evaluate all of Katamundi’s business and revenue model opportunities, identifying which revenue source(s) to pursue, what value to offer, how to price the value, who pays for the value, and the cost to implement. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks across recommended business and revenue models. Recommend a plan and schedule to periodically survey and analyze KPIs. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Identify potential business partnerships and develop an outreach strategy that aims to 1) grow the user base, 2) grow revenue, and/or 3) raise brand awareness. Katamundi is a social impact movement for K-8th graders looking to make a positive difference in the world through service-learning and volunteerism. We are launching our Phase 1 social impact network as a mobile-optimized web app in early 2021. In this project, student teams may collaborate with Katamundi’s marketing and communications team on the following: DESIGN: Research, brainstorm, and develop Katamundi’s brand identity, including, but is not limited to, colors, typography, and all other visual communication features. DESIGN: Based on Katamundi’s new brand identity, create design templates on Canva for a variety of visual media assets, including, but is not limited to social media posts (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), video templates (cover, lower thirds, intro, outro), podcast covers, and business and marketing collateral (business cards, letterhead, flyers, brochures, postcards). DESIGN: Brainstorm on unique visual media assets that can be used in different platforms to delight users. COMMUNICATIONS: Create a Katamundi Brand book that includes all brand identity and design templates. COMMUNICATIONS: Create visual media content to support digital marketing and communications efforts. We are offering an Entrepreneurial Internship program that will highlight product development and strategic planning efforts. Below are sample projects an Entrepreneurial Product and Strategic Planning Intern may work on: STRATEGIC PLANNING: Analyze the cost, benefits, and process of organizing into a non-profit, fiscal sponsorship, social b-corp, and c-corp. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Evaluate business model opportunities, identifying which revenue source(s) to pursue, what value to offer, how to price the value, and who pays for the value. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks. Recommend a plan and schedule to periodically survey and analyze KPIs. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Research and evaluate relevant gamification features, user-generated content features, and other user retention strategies that aim to optimize user engagement. While our program is designed to be an in-person, hands-on experience, we are looking to build this web application to help amplify our marketing and educational outreach efforts as well as to build a robust online member community, encourage member networking and communications, and track and celebrate individual member progress. Unicorn Charity Club would like your help in developing our social media and communications strategy to help accomplish the following goals: Grow our Membership Base. We are currently a local membership club in Orange County, CA, but hope to offer our program via virtual meetings on Facebook groups to other families regardless of their geographical location. How can we engage families to join our club and actively participate in our charity projects? Spread the word. We sponsor 3 charity projects each year and work closely with charity partners. We aim to position our social media and blog content strategy to effectively promote our charity partner's mission and public education efforts.
