Number of individual students required: 1Our team is looking for a student who can help raise awareness for the contributions made by Veterans. This would include research for our social media platforms and outreaching to companies for our silent auction The 2 main tasks for this student is to:Research dates of significance to the military veteran community: a. Birthdays famous military veterans including actors, singers, comedians, and professional athletes. b. Dates of passing for deceased famous military veterans including actors, singers, comedians, and professional athletes. c. Other significant dates, i.e. founding date of the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Marines, US Coast Guard and US Space Force; founding date of the US Army Reserves, US Navy Reserves, US Air Force Reserves, US Marines Reserves; Veterans Day, Women Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Armed Forces Day, other observances for military veterans. Using this information our organization is able to raise awareness for the accomplishments of past Veterans on our website and social media platforms.Create a database compiling these datesProvide a brief description of the significance of the individual/ event 2. Outreach to companies who would be able to donate to our silent auction. Proceed will go towards the homeless veterans in Los Angeles and toward the NVF’s LifeLine for Vets, established in 1985, our unique Vet-to-Vet national toll-free helpline/crisis hotline service (1-888-777-4443, vetsupport@nvf.org) which has enabled us to field over 450,000 calls.Communicate the purpose of the silent auction with potential donor companiesContact companies through the phone or emailNVF Director of Operations Dave Clanton will provide donor companies with a receipt stating, "You made this donation as a charitable contribution and are not receiving any goods or services in return. The National Veterans Foundation is a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible. EIN XX-XXXXXXX."
