Recent projects
Community-Based Research Training Program
The main goal for the project is to train post-secondary students in community-based research methods, with a focus on addressing systemic barriers experienced by Black and racialized communities. The program aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to engage in research that directly impacts these communities and promotes a more vibrant, healthy, and resilient environment. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Leading workshops on Introduction to Community-Based Research & Knowledge Translation, CBR Research Methods, Capacity Building & Engaging Stakeholders, and Mental Health & Trauma-Based Research with Racialized Communities. - Providing mentorship and guidance to post-secondary students participating in the program. - Collaborating with Loyan Foundation to develop and implement research projects that address systemic barriers experienced by Black and racialized communities.
Research Writer
The goal of this project is to support the development of Section 2B and 3 of the Loyan Foundation community Based Research Toolkit. Through this project, students will obtain project management experience in developing a CBR Toolkit, build strong verbal and written communication skills while supporting our foundation.
Social Media Support Intern
The goal of this project is to increase awareness of Loyan foundation mental health and settlement programs by increasing digital marketing of our programs. Through this project students will obtain experience in digital marketing, creating a communication plan and a content calendar for our organization. They will also obtain some event coordination experience by engaging in email marketing to promote our mental health conference.
Project Coordinator
The goal of this project is to support in researching and reaching out to community partners for the expansion the Loyan Foundation programs as well as create job descriptions for Loyan Foundation volunteer projects. Through this project, students will obtain project management experience through engaging community partners and experience working in HR spaces via in interviewing volunteers and creating volunteer posting.
