Expected outcomes and deliverables

Projects should focus on the planning phase. 90% of student project work is defining and researching a plan. Your desired deliverable may be present within the larger project plan.


A typical project plan

  • Anticipated timeline - students will forecast and create a GANTT chart based on stated resources
  • Budget - based on research and experience, students will reflect industry standards for costs accounting for vendors and future demands
  • Quality management - students will identify key measurements and factors alongside methods to achieve improvement to ensure success
  • Communication - documentation regarding initiation, planning, execution, performance, and closure of the project
  • Risk management - students will identify project risks by assessing the probability, impact, root cause, and developing contingency plans
  • Procurement - students will collect information on contractschedule, scope, quality, and cost performance for collection, indexing, and filing and catalog change documentation, payment, and inspection results
  • Stakeholders - from identification to analysis and management, students will recognize that stakeholders set the stage for a project and its success and will document how to engage stakeholders early in the discovery process and beyond
  • Change management - students will reinforce anticipatory change and define positive impact to stakeholders andprojects, assessing and addressing change
