This internship offers UNF MDA students an opportunity to apply their technical and analytical expertise to real-world operations and supply chain challenges. Interns will support the organization’s operations or business intelligence teams in optimizing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and delivering actionable insights from operational data. This role is ideal for companies looking to improve resource utilization, forecasting, inventory management, or service delivery through data-informed decision-making.

Interns will be assigned a supervisor within the host organization and will receive academic mentorship from a UNF Faculty Advisor. Regular check-ins will be coordinated with the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Manager to support the student's progress and development.

Upon completion of this internship, students will:

1. Apply modern data analytics practices to solve real operational problems.

2. Utilize advanced analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Excel) in a practical setting.

3. Gain professional exposure to workplace expectations, collaboration, and ethical responsibilities.

4. Understand how data solutions influence global, economic, and environmental decisions.

5. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and communicate complex data effectively.

  • Analyze historical operations or supply chain data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to track key operational KPIs (e.g., cycle time, throughput, inventory turnover).
  • Assist with demand forecasting and predictive modeling to inform logistics or capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes using data insights.
  • Extract and transform data from ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) using SQL or Excel.
  • Evaluate process performance, detect bottlenecks, and simulate optimization scenarios.
  • Present findings in written reports and stakeholder presentations with visualized insights.
