Bringing Relief at the Right Time
Greer Relief exists to transform neighbors in need to neighbors who thrive, by providing services to eliminate poverty and help neighbors overcome barriers.
Prevention is at the core of our mission. In 1936, Greer citizens founded Greer Relief to help prevent their neighbors from starving and freezing. We have continued to fight hunger and homelessness in our community. Our focus has matured with time, and today, we intervene when crisis threatens a family’s life using proven practices that meet needs and offer solutions to alter each family’s trajectory.
We believe that our community’s health is reflected by its residents’ well being. Similar to the circumstances surrounding the Great Depression, circumstances contributing to need are complex. Families may need relief due to generational cycles of poverty and addiction. Conversely, families may encounter a completely unexpected crisis, such as job loss, injury, a death, or other disaster. - Industries

Event Marketing Content Creation: Neighborhood Breakfast
We would like students to help us with creating content for our upcoming Neighborhood Breakfast event, June 2022. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. The Greer Relief Neighborhood Breakfast is an annual event where neighbors from the upstate will join us for breakfast and a discussion about Greer Relief. The purpose of the event is to educate the community on the mission of and vision of Greer Relief and our focus on eliminating poverty and helping our neighbors overcome barriers for success. You will learn more about Greer Relief: who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved.To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:Print media postcard to mail to current supportersWrite blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on the organizationAssist with a social media content to promote the eventIdentify media outlets that are most beneficial to share the eventUltimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, including blog articles, emails, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools for the event.If you like the sound of our culture, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.A student or team with excellent writing and video skills would be the ideal candidate for this project.
Event Marketing Content Creation: Christmas Morning Shoppe
We would like students to help us with creating content for the RENEW Christmas Morning Shoppe, December 2022. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. The RENEW Christmas Morning (CMS) Shoppe is an annual program where our neighbors participate in the RENEW program to earn rewards to participate in the CMS program which includes family dinners & toys under the Christmas tree. It gives our neighbor a hand with dignity.
