Visual Storytelling for Newcomers

The Islamic Family and Social Services Association (IslamicFamily) aims to enhance its outreach to newcomers in Edmonton through compelling visual storytelling. Newcomers often face challenges in adapting to a new environment, and effective communication can play a crucial role in easing this transition. The project involves creating a series of engaging visuals that communicate the services and support IslamicFamily offers, tailored specifically to the needs and cultural backgrounds of newcomers. The visuals should be culturally sensitive, inclusive, and easily understandable, even for those with limited English proficiency. By leveraging classroom knowledge in graphic design and visual communication, learners will develop materials that not only inform but also resonate emotionally with the target audience.
