Number of individual students required: 1 team (2 students)

Location: Remote

The research assistants will support the research initiatives under the guidance of Keltsmaht Kelp. Areas of inquiry including: aquaculture and sustainability.

The position requires skills in data retrieval and manipulation, empirical methods, data display and scientific writing.

The project may include, but is not limited to:

  • Planning/performing the outlines and looking after data retrieval (eg, data scraping) and analysis (eg, big data analysis) using existing tools and methods.
  • Responsible for complex tasks in relation to data retrieval and analysis.
  • Working with senior level in the design and execution of empirical tests.
  • Conducting literature reviews and contributing to the development of research projects.
  • Writing reports and assisting with writing grant applications in terms of conceptualization and articulation.

Scope: Phase 8 will focus on an analysis of production methods of dried kelp products.

Mentorship

As a small start-up company, Keltsmaht Kelp will be able to provide a high level of mentorship to the student. Students will be expected to work with some level of independence but will always be under supervision.
