The main goal for the project is to create a robust Job Market Readiness program that effectively prepares international postgraduate students in Canada for the Canadian job market. This program will be delivered through a Discord-based platform and aims to provide essential services to support these students. The program should focus on addressing the unique challenges faced by international students and provide personalized, comprehensive, and supportive experiences.



The tasks that learners will need to complete to achieve the project goal include:


- Conducting research on the Canadian job market and its requirements for international postgraduate students.


- Analyzing the specific challenges faced by international students in Canada when seeking employment.


- Developing a comprehensive curriculum for the Job Market Readiness program, including topics such as resume building, interview preparation, networking, and cultural integration.


- Identifying key components of the program that will be most beneficial to international postgraduate students.


- Providing strategic recommendations for the development of the program, including potential partnerships and resources that could enhance its effectiveness.


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:


- In-depth understanding of the Canadian job market and its requirements for international postgraduate students.


- A well-researched and comprehensive curriculum for the Job Market Readiness program.


- Identification of key components and strategic recommendations for the program's development.


- A detailed report outlining the research findings, curriculum development, and strategic recommendations.


- A presentation to MapleCompass stakeholders, showcasing the proposed program and its potential impact on international postgraduate students in Canada.

Mentorship

Project Coordinator: A dedicated project coordinator will be assigned to oversee the project, facilitate communication, and provide guidance throughout the project duration.

Regular Check-ins: Weekly check-in meetings will be scheduled to review progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.

Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Access to MapleCompass SMEs, such as career advisors, immigration consultants, and HR professionals, for consultations and insights.
