Our company is committed to serving our target market, but the founder is wishing to step back or retire. To direct our future activities, we are in need of investor support/involvment or to prepare for a sale of the company.

We would like to collaborate with students to develop an investment/exit plan that meets our goals.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

• Familiarizing themselves with our values, products and services.
• Defining goals for the investment plan.
• Conducting research on potential investors for our company (some suggestions provided).
• Creating materials such as presentations, SWOT analysis, market research and templates for our financials and forecasts.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

• Recommending improvements or changes for future growth and profitability.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

• Familiarity with our values, products and services
• Definition of investment/exit goals
• Understanding of different potential investors
• Creation of investment materials

Bonus steps would include:

• Recommending improvements for future growth and profitability.

Final deliverables should include

• A final report.
• A 10-minute presentation.

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

• Our values, products and services
• History of the company
• Competitors, allies
• Prospective partners/purchasers
• Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
