The primary focus for the student will be:
- Public Relations - Develop and implement a PR strategy; create collateral, including press releases, user testimonials, case studies, and customer stories. First, familiarize yourself with the Dimples brand of personalized and custom jewelry. Then, research and identify the best media outlets, publications, podcasts etc. to reach the ideal Dimples customer. Create a list of editors with contact information to whom you will reach out to with the purpose of gaining media coverage for the Dimples brand. Employing excellent copywriting skills, create a media kit tailored to each outlet, publication and editor. Create a calendar for PR outreach. Communicate with identified contacts using the media kit you created. Student(s) should be familiar with using Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar.
Our goal at the end of this experience is:
- For the student to create a list, including contact information, of ideal media outlets, publications, and editors to reach out to with the aim of gaining media coverage for the Dimples brand of personalized jewelry.
- For the student to create a complete Media Kit tailored to each outlet/editor.
- For the student to create a calendar for PR outreach.
- For the student to initiate communications with outlets/editors.
Other duties the student may complete could include:
- Copywriting and content development using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Canva.
- Possibly video creation/editing for the media kit.
We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using these communication tools:
- Riipen messaging, email, Zoom

To onboard the student(s) we will begin the intership with a virtual meeting (Zoom or Teams) where the student and our team can get to know each other, the student(s) can learn about our company, brand, and this project and we will learn about the students' interests and strengths coming to this project. In this initial meeting we will establish mutually arrived at expectations for communication. We will have a virtual meeting at the beginning and end of each week to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps. The student(s) is/are welcome to email, call, or text anytime with questions or concerns and we will respond promptly, either immediately or within a couple of hours. We are able to provide more than the minimum 5 hours of mentorship to students for this project.

Dimples is a family owned and operated fine jewelry company that has been in operation since 2006. Dimples is where fashion meets sentiment. We help people capture life's special moments in custom jewelry they personalize with loved ones' fingerprints, hand & footprints, handwriting, drawings, and pet paw prints. We also specialize in custom design and jewelry remodelling. We transitioned Dimples from a wholesale model, where it was sold in jewelry stores across Canada, to being entirely e-commerce. While all of our jewelry is made in the GTA it is shipped to customers globally. We are honoured to be able to help people keep their loved ones forever close in jewelry that is both meaningful and fashionable.
