Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We are a social enterprise and have built a technology platform to support community health centres in Yukon, British Columbia, Ontario and New Brunswick.

The primary goal of this 80-hour project is clear-cut: we're preparing to introduce our AI-enhanced product at the Krasman Healthcentre Ontario, aiming to significantly reduce healthcare administration burdens. In this crucial phase, we're bringing on board 2-4 learners with keen minds to propel this rollout.

Your task is vital - delve into the user experience, gather and analyze customer feedback through innovative approaches, and apply these insights directly to our product. This isn't just about collecting data; it's about embedding real user needs into our solution.

By the project's conclusion, you're expected to craft a report that goes beyond mere analysis. It should lay out a clear, actionable plan for elevating our product, ensuring it makes a significant impact in reducing healthcare admin complexities as we launch at the Krasman Centre.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  1. Interviewing Our Users: You'll have the chance to talk directly with our customers. I want you to really get into their heads, understand what they love about our product, and where we can do better.
  2. Crafting Surveys: Your creativity will come into play here. You'll design surveys that are not just informative but also engaging enough to encourage responses.
  3. Sorting Through Feedback: This might sound a bit dry, but it's crucial. You'll organize all the feedback we receive, making it easy for us to spot trends and insights.
  4. Making Sense of the Data: You'll analyze the feedback and help us understand what it all means. This is where your insights could lead to some real aha-moments for our product and engineering teams.
  5. Brainstorming with the Team: You won't be working in a silo. You’ll join forces with different teams in our company to figure out how we can use what you've learned to make our product even better.
  6. Getting Hands-On with Product Launches: There's always something exciting going on here. You'll have a hand in our product launches and other big projects, giving you a taste of what product management is all about.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

In our commitment to offering a nurturing and productive environment for our interns, we've set up a framework of support that balances guidance with autonomy. Here's what you can expect as an intern on this project:

  1. Mentorship: Each of you will be paired with an experienced mentor. They're not just there to oversee your work; they're your go-to for advice, insights, and feedback. They'll help steer you through the complexities of the project and ensure you're on the right track.
  2. Regular Check-Ins with Supervisors: Beyond your mentor, you'll also have regular sessions with your supervisor. This is where you can talk about your progress, tackle any challenges you're facing, and get answers to all your questions.
  3. Access to Real Users and Data: We understand the importance of real-world experience. That's why you'll have direct access to our users for feedback and interviews. Plus, you'll work with de-identified user data, giving you a hands-on experience in data analysis and user insight generation.
  4. Tools and Technologies: We’ll equip you with all the necessary tools and technologies for your role. Whether it's UX design software, data analysis tools, or project management platforms, you'll have what you need to succeed.
  5. Encouraging Ownership and Leadership: While we're here to support you, we also want you to shine as an individual. We value your unique perspectives and encourage you to take the lead on your projects. Your ideas and contributions are crucial in driving our company forward.

We believe this blend of support, resources, and empowerment will not only help you achieve the project goals but also foster your professional growth and confidence in your abilities.
