Details

To provide students, particularly those specializing in Genetics, Statistics, and Neuroscience, with hands-on experience in understanding the utility of understanding the quality of holter monitors using electrodes vs a single patch. The project aims to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the field of cardiovascular health monitoring and biotechnology.

Deliverables

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze real-world Holter monitor data to uncover patterns, relationships, and insights related to heart arrhythmias and other cardiovascular conditions.
  • Use statistical tools and genome editing knowledge to explore potential correlations between genetic factors and cardiovascular health.

Literature Review and Research:

  • Conduct literature reviews on the latest advancements in Holter monitoring, cardiovascular health, and the potential impact of biotechnology on diagnostics.
  • Critically analyze primary research to support the findings from data analysis.

Scientific Communication:

  • Prepare scientific reports that summarize findings and suggest potential biotech applications for improving Holter monitoring technology or patient outcomes.
  • Design a digital poster to visually communicate the research and insights gained during the project.

Oral Presentation:

  • Present the project findings, methodologies, and potential biotech innovations in an oral presentation to peers, faculty, and industry partners.

Community Engagement Experience:

This project will familiarize students with the biotech sector, particularly in the context of cardiovascular health, by providing them with practical experience in data analysis, research, and scientific communication. Students will gain insights into the startup environment and the application of biotechnology in real-world scenarios.

Mentorship

Students will receive support through regular mentorship meetings with Quadromed experts, access to real-world Holter monitor data, and resources for data analysis. Guidance on research methodologies, scientific communication, and biotech applications will also be provided, ensuring students can effectively apply their skills and gain valuable industry experience.
