empathy planning influencing skills animal care ethical standards and conduct data collection researchSub-clinical levels of narcissism varies widely between individuals. To date, there has been very little research investigating how sub-clinical narcissistic personal traits relate to the care and ownership of animals. Furthermore, little is also known about how narcissistic personality traits in animal owners or caregivers influence the animal's behaviour.

During the project, the successful applicant will be expected to:
- Create study stimuli that is relevant to the research question(s) being investigated.
- Build upon the research familiarization task from PHASE 1 by planning and conducting a systematic literature review on narcissism, animal ownership, and human- and animal-centred empathy.
- Develop and, in collaboration with the employer, submit research ethics application(s) for the planned research.
- Develop and deploy the research study (or studies) for data collection using software and protocols provided by the employer.
