The 171 Electric Bike Company Inc. seeks to understand the economic implications of the recent tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on electric bikes imported into Ontario, Canada. This project aims to analyze how these tariffs affect the pricing, sales, and overall market dynamics of electric bikes in the region. This project aims to conduct a desktop study analyzing the impact of Trump’s new tariffs on imported electric bikes (e-bikes) and how Ontario's e-bike industry can benefit from this situation. The objective is to identify opportunities for local manufacturers, optimize supply chains, and develop marketing strategies to promote domestically produced e-bikes. This study will be completed within one month.

By understanding these dynamics through a desktop study, we can develop actionable strategies for local e-bike manufacturers.

The ebike industry is supposed to help consumers make smart choices about the environment thru alternate modes of transportation. The electric bike industry is the wild west where over 90% of imported ebikes are rebranded. Meaning you do not know the manufacturer which is important for the longevity of the product. Currently average ebike life is less than 500 hours and they cannot be repaired and end up in the landfill. That is why 171 Electric Bike Company was formed to do 2 things. Educate the consumer, and keep our ebikes out of the landfill. Our Company philosophy is 'Touch Green' our motto is 'Buy it once - Ride it for life"
