Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our company would like to explore re-designing our current website with a prototype for a new digital health platform for elders.

We would like a group of students to design a new prototype web application based off of our current website’s functionality.

This will involve:

  • Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product.
  • Identifying key areas of our current website and what areas of focused might return the best results in a redesign.
  • Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available.
  • Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a web application which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile friendly
  • Creating a modern design that can be easily iterated over tim

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Conducting UX UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with our existing product
  • Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it works. We strongly recommend Figma or Webflow.
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a redesigned prototype of our product
  • Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting any sort of user testing on the prototypes to ensure ease of use and to collect user feedback.
  • Using design thinking to map out the user experience

Final deliverables should include

  • The design screens and all assets in a shareable format
  • A presentation as stated above of the final designs
  • Guidelines explaining the use/components of the design.
About the company

Healthcare delivery in Canada is moving to the home and the system isn't equipped to handle it. Personal care workers are underpaid, go into homes unaware of the client needs and cite leaving their jobs due to a lack of autonomy. For care seekers, finding home care for loved ones is stressful, managing payments is difficult and care is hard to coordinate.

Gia Health connects pre-screened, curated home caregivers to home careseekers, manage billing and insurance payments and coordinate care based on individual needs. **We are currently operating in stealth mode**
