This project focuses on creating tools and materials that guide students through career exploration, job searching, cross-cultural communication skill development, and professional growth. Closing the gaps in current career resources, the project will deliver accessible, user-friendly, and impactful materials that align with BG Global Partners’ commitment to developing globally competent citizens and leaders.
Tasks to Complete
Needs Assessment Analysis
- Review literature and references to identify key challenges and gaps in career resources for youth.
- Analyze existing career service materials and best practices in career development.
- Research current trends in job markets, skills in demand, and career services globally, with a focus on post-secondary and international students.
Content Development
- Design and create practical career resources, such as:
- Resume and cover letter templates tailored for various industries.
- Job search guides (e.g., tips for finding jobs, leveraging LinkedIn, and networking strategies).
- Interview preparation materials (e.g., practice questions, STAR method worksheets).
- Develop content that is user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing.
Digital Resource Creation
- Create downloadable and interactive resources in formats like PDFs, Word documents, and editable templates.
- Develop engaging infographics or visuals to simplify complex career concepts.
- Record short video tutorials or presentations on topics such as job search strategies and interview tips.
Package Compilation and Testing
- Compile all resources into a cohesive, professional career service resource package.
- Test the package with a small group of students to gather feedback and refine content for clarity and usability.
Presentation Preparation
- Develop a final presentation to summarize the project findings, process, and deliverables.
- Highlight the impact of the created resource package and provide recommendations for its implementation by BG Global Partners.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
