Details

The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce is seeking a team of learners to assist in the successful execution of its fall 2024 events and the establishment of the Southwest Business Committee. The project aims to provide students with practical experience in event management and business committee formation. Learners will support key Chamber events such as Business Excellence Awards Gala, and the Chamber Advocacy Forum. Tasks include pre-event planning, on-site coordination, and post-event evaluation. Additionally, students will help lay the foundation for the Southwest Business Committee by identifying potential member businesses, organizing initial meetings, and setting the stage for future initiatives. This project offers a unique opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, focusing on event logistics and strategic business development.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a comprehensive event support plan for the Chamber's fall 2024 events, detailing pre-event, on-site, and post-event activities. Additionally, students will produce a report outlining the steps taken to establish the Southwest Business Committee, including a list of identified businesses and a schedule of initial meetings. The final deliverables will also include feedback and recommendations for future events and committee activities.
