The SSP Backend Security Enhancement Project aims to bolster the security of SSP Systems LTD's backend infrastructure, which is built on Laravel v12. Students will conduct a comprehensive OWASP-style security audit to identify potential vulnerabilities such as input injection, role escalation, and insecure authentication flows. The goal is to provide SSP Systems LTD with a detailed understanding of their current security posture and actionable recommendations for improvement. By applying classroom knowledge of cybersecurity principles, students will gain hands-on experience in identifying and mitigating real-world security risks. This project not only enhances the security of SSP's backend but also equips students with practical skills in security auditing and risk management.

The project deliverables include a detailed Vulnerability Report highlighting the top 5–10 security findings, along with recommended security improvements. Students will also implement fixes or submit pull requests for at least three identified vulnerabilities. Additionally, a Security Hardening Checklist will be created to guide developers in maintaining a secure backend environment. These deliverables will provide SSP Systems LTD with a clear roadmap for enhancing their backend security.
