PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA) is the presenting sponsor of DEFSEC Atlantic 2021 taking place from October 5th-7th in Halifax, Nova Scotia. DEFSEC Atlantic is the second largest show of its kind in Canada, with a focus on showcasing Atlantic Canada's aerospace, defence and security capabilities. DEFSEC Atlantic has elements of both a trade show and defence procurement conference, connecting "the right people" with each other in an engaging and professional setting.

ACADA is looking for assistance in industry marketing and business development, working alongside of our Manager, Marketing, Events and Communications in the planning and execution of this project.

Students will also help in the assessment of ACADA's presence at DEFSEC Atlantic 2021 and help to plan for next year's event.

KEY PROJECT ACTIVITES:

  • Developing a members guide to DEFSEC Atlantic 2021
  • Maximizing ACADA's brand awareness
  • Supporting sponsorship engagement
  • Aiding in the planning and delivery of programs and initiatives
  • Connecting with members to ensure engagement in ACADA's virtual component
  • Developing social media content to promote DEFSEC Atlantic leading up to the show

Mentorship

The supervisor will be the Manager, Marketing, Events and Communications. Students will have weekly team meetings and individual weekly sessions with the manager, with support offered by the Provincial Directors when needed.

ACADA has four Provincial Directors (NS, NB, NF, PEI) and a CEO who will offer one-on-one and group monitorship opportunities throughout the duration of the program.

ACADA represents companies both large and small but with a particular focus on the SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) segment which represents over 80% of the organization’s membership base. ACADA has offices (and staff) in each of the four Atlantic provinces and is governed by a Board of Directors.
