Details
Working with the SIM-one team, students will be creating, distributing, collecting and analyzing a survey of our community and members. Students will lead the analysis of this data to identify key market trends: how simulation programs are evolving; what is expected to change in the coming year; and what needs are arising. The students will then produce two reports: Once for SIM-one use, to better understand these issues; and a second to be distributed to simulation companies who would benefit from business intelligence on the Canadian simulation ecosystem. Finally, the students will use this information to advise us on priority areas for development/revision of our own services, by identifying priorities that both meet needs of our members and create potential revenue sources for us.

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will connect with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope, present their team charter, and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 2.5 - Presentation: Students will present their insights, recommendations and plan to their classmates; attendance by representatives from project clients is welcome, but optional.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Comprehensive Report: Students will submit a detailed report on the outcomes of the project. Report will cover: definition of the problem or opportunity, supporting research and analysis, recommendations, implementation/action plans, monitors/controls, and limitations/risk analysis, accompanied by appendices containing all their research findings and references.
