Details

Arriving in Canada as an immigrant has its own set of challenges.

One is the financial system. A lot of financial literacy trainings are available, but unfortunately, all of these focus on helping people who are already in trouble.

We are planning on avoiding the trouble by making newcomers comfortable with the common financial concepts in Canada.

Whenever you land in Canada, in the first few days, you will make decisions that can set you back by years.

You will be helping us understand the current financial literacy landscape:

  • existing products
  • existing training and service providers
  • current business models
  • reaching out to communities and collecting their stories
  • channels targeting newcomers
  • potential partners, we could work with

Together, we will be working on a go-to-market strategy that will be built around the information you research.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with the current financial literacy landscape
  • Understanding of our target market and market potential
  • Understand how the market information or the lack of influences go-to-market strategy
  • Familiarity with an agile go-to-market approach

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report.
  • A presentation.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our products and services
  • Our current understanding of the market
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
