Details

Our company would like to create an app for our sign post installation division. This would enable our current customers to book services through the app and track the process of the work we complete.

We would like a group of students to design a prototype mobile application for our current service based division.

This will involve:

  • Conduct background research on the services we offer.
  • Identify key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application.
  • Learn and use various software design tools.
  • Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a native mobile application which can be used on both iOS and Android.
  • Create an inventory monitoring system for the equipment used during installations.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with our existing services and service outcomes.
  • Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it work.
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a mobile application prototype of our services.
  • Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Extra steps would include:

  • Conducting user interface testing with real potential users potentially involving prototypes or other software tools to support this.

Final deliverables should include:

1. The design screens and all assets in a shareable format.

2. A presentation as stated above of the final designs.

Mentorship

Students will work directly with our founder to answer any questions the students may have:

  • Current service outcomes understanding
  • Desired outcomes for the application based on customer and service provider input
  • Any questions about branding or style
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
