Details

The goal for this project is to create a narrow artificial intelligence (AI) application that will inform a human mold has been detected and requires removal.

Deliverables

The student will us Python, R, or other machine learning/AI applications to learn from streaming imagery in the growth of a mushroom on a vertical mushroom farm. The data collected is securely transmitted and stored in the cloud. The output from the ML/AI application will inform a human mold was detected in a block/grow kit. If a mold is not removed, it could take over and wipe out a mushroom farm.

Mentorship

I will provide unlimited streaming data to use, and manage and maintain the mushroom life cycle and provide onsite technical support. Build requirements will be limited as the intent is to learn how to code for machine learning and artificial intelligence, and for AI/ML to provide the outcome. I can provide guidance and mentor in defining the AI detention and response parameters. Additionally, I can help in defining any requirements to engineering the narrow AI.

Setas Mushrooms, LLC is a multi-faceted, integrated agricultural operation centered on fungal products produced sustainably and delivered both directly to customers and through wholesale channels. We intend to grow and deliver our goods with minimal waste and incorporate the waste created by one type of operation into the production stream of another on-site, aiming for a circular stream that produces little or no unreclaimable waste. We use renewable energy and sustainable buildings for heating, cooling, and electricity; we source recycled/recyclable packaging, and we are pursuing a USDA Organic certification for our edible mushroom products.
