Details

Rising Solutions seeks a spring semester intern/fellow to support the research of a new well-being technology, leveraging circadian rhythm, sleep, and neuroscience. This is an outstanding opportunity to apply this research at a social start-up working in the creativity and innovation space. The development of this product is in direct response to the needs we have seen from our extensive time and experience consulting in the innovation space.

We are seeking a passionate, fun, self-starter who is excited about contributing to our research and leveraging sleep science to improve creativity in the workplace. The primary responsibility is to conduct research on the influence of sleep, biology, and environmental factors on workplace performance and how to best improve it.

Deliverables

As a critical member of our team, you can expect the following responsibilities:

  • Model the Rising Solutions values of empathy, humility, and curiosity, putting people first- whether it be project team members, the client or the stakeholders contributing their experiences and ideas to the research.
  • Research: Conduct research in the area of sleep and circadian influences on work performance through in-depth literature reviews, gather and analyze data through primary and secondary research. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in chronobiology, circadian rhythms, and well-being research to support product development.
  • Analytical and Algorithm Support: Collaborate with our team to develop algorithms for determining circadian rhythms, optimizing well-being initiatives, and improving occupational health outcomes based on research in sleep, nutrition, and neuroscience
  • Validation: Assist in the testing and validation of our technology through the lens of scientific and research-backed application. This may be through surveys, participant interviews, or secondary research
  • Research Publication: Author educational content pieces for marketing and supporting users
  • Attend weekly team meetings
Mentorship

Learners will work with our project manager Danielle who will be guiding and assisting them with questions and feedback.

We are a small, young start-up doing super cool work for great causes. We offer a fun, dynamic work environment, a chance to build and test ideas, and a space to explore your passions. Although our goal is to reward young people for the work they contribute to our company with financial compensation, at our nascent stage we aren’t quite there yet.

As such, we aim to partner with students whose universities require practical work experience in their curriculum in order to graduate. We are happy to work with your university to design the type of experience your University requires for course credit.

Rising Solutions is a small woman-owned, woman-powered innovation strategy firm forged from two decades of work in global social innovation. Since its inception, our research has been focused on the systematic failures that inhibit creativity and innovation in the modern workplace.

Our passion is creating enabling environments for creativity and innovation. We do so by focusing on culture and psychological safety in the workplace. We are often called upon to dismantle invisible barriers to innovation such as workplace design, status quo bias, creativity bias, burnout, and anxiety. This has led us on a new mission to introduce neuroscience and chronobiology to the future of work. We apply these ideas to our work as we guide clients through custom processes that both launch new ideas and create lasting cultures of creativity, growth, and retention.
