Our team is looking for social media marketing wizard who can help us drive more traffic and improve our SEO positioning for Ontario Museum Association and for one of more of the 700+ Museums in Ontario. We are also looking to create a best practices HOW TO MANUAL for SEO and Social Media optimization for museums in Ontario. Our objective is to achieve inclusion and help museums across Ontario build awareness of the stories of Canada's heritage and use online channels to promote an integrated visitor experience for museums in Ontario - both online and offline.
The primary project requirements include:
- Keyword analysis to determine relevant search terms for selected museum(s) and campaign objectives
- A strategy document to outline:
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) requirements to ensure the museum/campaign appears on the first page of Google for relevant keywords
- Social media requirements to increase the number of followers/likes and share
- a. Content Calendar Execution: Timely deployment of all our social media content to drive maximum traffic to the selected site(s)
- b. Creating engaging content for prominent media websites
- c. Each museum uses different tools and programs, so students will be expected to use new tools as required by the selected museums that you are working with.
We’re excited to work with students who can help us not only brainstorm, but also execute a strategy to achieve top-ranked results for keywords selected from analysis. But overall the project is about making museums Ontario destinations of choice for educational and leisure time.
This is a great project for students to prove their digital marketing expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated.
Students will be expected to work independently, but will meet up each week for knowledge sharing, project updates and information session from industry experts in heritage and SEO/Social Media.
About the company
The WIL office at George Brown supports Experiential Learning on campus. Experiential Learning in an umbrella term used to cover all of the opportunities available to students to take part in sector-specific learning experiences. These opportunities can take place in a variety of settings including workplaces, simulation facilities, labs, shops, and studios in both educational, workplace and practice environments. They are a chance for students to experience their field or industry and learn what’s expected of them before graduating.
