ergonomics occupational safety and health researchWe are looking to identify if ergonomic interventions in workplaces improve employee morale and/or decrease workplace injury.
Work with the lead ergonomist to create a survey that can be provided to patients. The survey should be short and easy to complete. Looking at if the employee has experiences a workplace injury or discomfort when working. If the company has ergonomics or provided them with ergonomic interventions. The students will analyze the data collected to provide research on the importance of ergonomic inventions on employee safety and morale. This data will be used by the ergonomic consultants when reaching out to future companies.
The lead ergonomist at ASMC will be available to students at any time via email to help guide them when creating and analyzing the survey. They will also be available once per week for a video chat along with reception, and the operation coordinator to help provide students with the project direction, or to trouble shoot any issues that may arise. The lead ergonomist will be present at the workplace to help gather participates to complete the research survey, and communicate the purpose of the study.

We have sports medicine specialists (physician's), athletic therapists/ physiotherapists, chiropractors, and an ergonomist. We see a wide range of patients that can either be referred to one of our specialists due to pain they are experiencing. This pain can be due to repetitive strain, workplace injury, sports injury or anything in between. If a patient is coming in to see our physiotherapist, chiropractor or ergonomist a self-referral is accepted.
