Develop a volunteer recruitment, selection, and retention system to support Youth Empowerment Day 2025, while applying HR principles in a real-world context.
Tasks & Activities:
- Recruitment & Selection: Create and implement a volunteer recruitment plan, aligning with best practices in talent acquisition.
- Performance Management: Develop a volunteer evaluation and feedback system to monitor performance and engagement.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver volunteer onboarding and training programs, assessing their effectiveness post-event.
- Labour Relations: Ensure effective communication and conflict resolution during volunteer management.
- Compensation & Recognition: Research and propose volunteer recognition strategies to enhance retention and motivation.
- Health & Safety: Collaborate on safety policies, ensuring volunteers are trained on event protocols.
- Technology & Communication: Utilize HR information systems to track volunteer participation and communication. Present HR messages effectively across channels.
Youth Empowerment Collective has a Volunteer Kick-Off Meeting/Event planned for Monday, Nov 18th @ 6pm. We would absolutely love if the students could join us virtually so they can get a feel for our organization and see first hand the gaps we are looking to improve on through this partnership. Deliverables:
- Recruitment, Selection, and Retention Plan: A detailed document outlining volunteer recruitment strategies, roles, timelines, and retention tactics.
- Create Recruitment Materials: Design job descriptions, social media posts, and outreach materials.
- Onboarding and Training Materials: A volunteer orientation guide, presentations, and other training resources designed to ensure readiness.
- Volunteer Recognition Plan: A written report proposing volunteer retention and recognition strategies, including rewards or acknowledgments.
- Health & Safety Plan: Procedures and documentation for volunteer safety, including training on event-day protocols.
- Final Evaluation Report: A comprehensive review of recruitment outcomes, onboarding effectiveness, and volunteer performance, with recommendations for future improvements.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
