Project Goal:

Develop a volunteer recruitment, selection, and retention system to support Youth Empowerment Day 2025, while applying HR principles in a real-world context.

Tasks & Activities:

• Recruitment & Selection: Create and implement a volunteer recruitment plan, aligning with best practices in talent acquisition.
• Performance Management: Develop a volunteer evaluation and feedback system to monitor performance and engagement.
• Training & Development: Design and deliver volunteer onboarding and training programs, assessing their effectiveness post-event.
• Labour Relations: Ensure effective communication and conflict resolution during volunteer management.
• Compensation & Recognition: Research and propose volunteer recognition strategies to enhance retention and motivation.
• Health & Safety: Collaborate on safety policies, ensuring volunteers are trained on event protocols.
• Technology & Communication: Utilize HR information systems to track volunteer participation and communication. Present HR messages effectively across channels.

Youth Empowerment Collective has a Volunteer Kick-Off Meeting/Event planned for Monday, Nov 18th @ 6pm. We would absolutely love if the students could join us virtually so they can get a feel for our organization and see first hand the gaps we are looking to improve on through this partnership. Deliverables:

1. Recruitment, Selection, and Retention Plan: A detailed document outlining volunteer recruitment strategies, roles, timelines, and retention tactics.
2. Create Recruitment Materials: Design job descriptions, social media posts, and outreach materials.
3. Onboarding and Training Materials: A volunteer orientation guide, presentations, and other training resources designed to ensure readiness.
4. Volunteer Recognition Plan: A written report proposing volunteer retention and recognition strategies, including rewards or acknowledgments.
5. Health & Safety Plan: Procedures and documentation for volunteer safety, including training on event-day protocols.
6. Final Evaluation Report: A comprehensive review of recruitment outcomes, onboarding effectiveness, and volunteer performance, with recommendations for future improvements.
