- Conduct Process Mapping: Analyze the current production process by creating detailed maps of each stage, from raw material acquisition to product delivery.
- Identify Waste Areas: Use value stream mapping techniques to pinpoint areas of waste, such as overproduction, excess inventory, unnecessary transportation, waiting times, and defects.
- Collect and Analyze Data: Gather quantitative and qualitative data on production efficiency, including cycle times, bottlenecks, and resource utilization.
- Propose Lean Solutions: Develop recommendations for eliminating waste and improving efficiency, leveraging lean manufacturing principles like 5S, Kaizen, and Just-In-Time production.
- Develop a Comprehensive Report: Summarize findings, proposed solutions, and the results of pilot implementations in a detailed report tailored to the business's specific needs.
Staff will be available to provide strategic direction for the project and answer any questions students may have. We will schedule daily/weekly check-ins depending on what is needed.
