Northern Lights Estate Winery is preparing for the 2022 tourism season. Events and the openness of society is still uncertain due to Covid-19. Current restrictions do not allow for gatherings and events that would usually be used to draw customers to the winery. In addition, there is an exceptional amount of Weddings planned due to the fact that many were postponed in 2020 and 2021. The practicum students will meet with Doug several times to prepare a report for a tourism attraction that would include 1 of the following,
1. Private local tours which would include transportation, meals, and activities for a day.
2. A Sunflower maze 6 week event at a new property
3. A drop in, self guided activity at the winery that could be inexpensive attractive.
The selected option from above will be researched and formed into a report that includes the following.
- A 3 to 5 page report plus citations and research appendices.
- The report would include an introduction, research, costs, revenue projections, marketing plan, and conclusions.
- Preferred to have appendix with event budget.
- Appendix with marketing channels and costs.
This should be put into a report and in as much detail about the tourism attractions should be in as possible. The team will meet with Doug 3 times including first to review the project, 2nd after the students have selected the event, and 3rd to review the rough draft. The students will then perform a final powerpoint presentation to Doug to summarize their report.
