Number of individual students required: 4

Students at Accelerate Her Future will be provided with an opportunity to work with us on conducting and analyzing research the experiences of Black, Indigenous and racialized women, developing infographics, social media assets and contributing to our impact reporting process.

The student will be exposed to a variety of skills and experiences to enhance their knowledge of primary and secondary critical thinking and analysis, research methodology, survey design, design thinking, and written communication.

Who are we looking for? Ideally you have lived experience and ‘insider knowledge’ of the communities we serve at the core of our mission. You are inspired by our mission and like working within a collaborative environment. You value patience, respect, generosity, and good humour in your working relationships. Having an emerging understanding of intersectionality and gender and racial equity principles will be an asset.

Deliverables

The project may include, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting qualitative and secondary research
  • Conducting literature reviews and contributing to the development of research projects
  • Drawing insights and recommendations from the research
  • Creating infographics and social media assets/captions highlighting interesting research
  • Participating in research team meetings and design sessions
  • Writing reports and blogs
Mentorship

We are a young startup and as a career accelerator for students and recent graduates we care deeply about mentorship. This engagement will give interns an opportunity to work with a dynamic team within a collaborative environment. We will help our students succeed as much as we want them to help us enhance our social impact. The research assistants will support the research initiatives of AHF under the guidance of our Founder and Operations & UX Lead. They would attend weekly team meeting and one on one meetings for mentorship and project status on weekly basis.
