animal care ethical standards and conduct test data statistical reporting research
Details

This project will involve behavioural neuroscience testing in zebrafish. Students will perform application of various compounds of interest and study behavioural responses with a variety of paradigms. Potential substances of interest include toxicants like PFOS, legal drugs like ethanol and nicotine, as well as terpenes, to name a few. The goal will be to study dose-dependent impacts of these substances on anxiety-like behaviour and locomotion

Deliverables

Students will need to complete animal user training that is required by the Canadian Council on Animal Care and regulated the MacEwan Animal Research Ethics Board. Once complete, students can begin testing with zebrafish and be responsible for compound administration and motion-tracking in the behavioural test. Data analysis, statistical reporting, and written reports of the results will be undertaken by students.

Mentorship

I will be available as mentor to train students on the various aspects of the project (minimum of 5 hours per project).
