Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

To raise awareness about our organization and the new thrift store that we are opening. We want to engage the community by having them donate their gently used items and/or shop for a cause at our thrift store. This project will entail speaking to community members in person to drive the success of our thrift store. Our thrift store is called "Thrift & Fund" and it is a social enterprise which supports our non-profit organization.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Students will need to be enthusiastic about taking to the public in the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody) and surrounding areas about our new thrift store. Students would be responsible for approaching people through door knocking and asking community members to donate gently used items (clothing and home decor). Students should have excellent interpersonal skills, be comfortable with sales, and the ability to provide information about our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Walking door to door and speaking with individuals
  • Memorizing and reciting scripts or statements
  • Driving to Canvassing locations.
  • Making cold calls from the office.
  • Answering questions about the thrift store and Low Entropy organization
  • Maintaining a professional appearance
About the company

Entropy is the measurement of disorder. A chaotic and disorderly state can be said to have high entropy, whereas an efficient, harmonious state—a state of stability, order, and balance—is considered as a low entropy state.

This is why we’ve taken up a mission as the Low Entropy Foundation. We strive to reduce the entropy in our social system to nurture a more loving, respectful humanity—a caring, global family that supports and cares for one another.
